The last 24 hours has been one of the most stressful periods of my life. We were told to immediately evacuate and I was unable to take our animals with us. It pained my heart but we had no option.

The fire sprang out of nowhere and we were told to just get out…

For the whole night, I was praying that our animals would be safe…. A miracle happened and when I got back in the morning, a lot of our sanctuary had been burnt but somehow the angels shined on us and they were safe.

It’s really shown us how vulnerable our rescue is. There will be a significant clean up and rebuild needed. It’s going to take months….

As you already know, we have been in the process of building another sanctuary, far away from these fires, to cater for exactly this scenario. It just wasn’t ready yet due to a shortfall in funding.

The fences have not been built and there are some crucial elements needed. It’s like this was a sign to get it fixed immediately for the animal’s sake.

Today, I’m asking you to help chip in to get us back on our feet and help us finish our new sanctuary. The summer is going to be long and we need an alternative should something like this emergency occur again.

We need to raise $100,000 all up.
